    Though the concept of "love at first sight" is deeply illogical, of course, Spock and Jim Kirk share an immediate connection, and it could change the trajectory of their lives.

    James Kirk had a crush on his professor.

    He's been dumped by his girlfriend, his roommate keeps bugging him, and he needs credits to finish out the summer semester.

    The lecture series on Vulcan poetry he signed up for on a whim might turn out to be Jim's saving grace.
