He feels like a lurking vampire, waiting to be invited over the threshold. For the final splinter of his soul to evaporate into the unforgiving night air.

    “Severus-"

It must be dark magic, in the still of the witching hour. The unholy spell of Potter’s beautiful green eyes and messy hair and sensual lips that ought to carry a life sentence in Azkaban.

    “Stay tonight.”

Severus helps Harry stumble drunkenly home after his stag do, the night before Harry's set to marry Ginny.

Regrets, last chances, and firewhisky-fuelled bad decisions...

Such a cute little Neville fic! 😍🌿

Sweet and hilarious and with a perfect, giggling Snape cameo at the end 👀

    Summary

It is, you think, too gorgeous of a day to bury your father. Unfortunately, life goes on. One day you’re imprisoned at the bottom of the sea trying not to lose your mind, and the next, you’re plotting for your future against the backdrop of a burial. The key to surviving both: keeping your wits about you.

No one gets to choose the weather.

    ----------------------------

Reader is finishing up a five-year sentence in a wizarding prison at the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean when she consents to an arranged marriage and is shipped off across the sea with her new husband, while on temporary release to attend her father's funeral to settle the debts he left behind. Reader doesn't have a name, but does have a background and family members.

INFO: Your parents are dead (condolences). You're American (condolences x2). You killed someone in an illegal duel at school in your final year and were sent to prison for it (you deserve it). You are not physically described beyond having hair (to have it stroked). Since prison, you have thalassophobia, a fear of squids (valid), and a fear of the dark. But you're not insane, and you definitely learned your lesson down there (didn't you?).

    Summary

“Teach me?” he stutters, pale eyes wide in stunned disbelief. “Y- You? Teach me?

Minerva nods, a mental muffliato at the fatalistic voice in her head that’s taunting through a mile-long scroll of all the ways that this is madness. He’s a squib; fifty years and not a whisper of magic.

“But you’re-" latent legilimency means she hears him tripping over the words in his mind, famousbrilliantbeautiful-

    “Headmistress,” he croaks, aloud.

“And you are a valued member of my staff, Argus.” In her most no nonsense voice; the one that silences the chattering Great Hall and makes the gargoyles on the staircases jump to attention. “We’ll start on Thursday evening. Seven o’clock.”

Minerva McGonagall and Argus Filch. Magic lessons, first wands. Healing, after the wizarding war, and falling, slowly and very gently, in love.

    Everyone please read this!!! 🖤

Ahhhh the characterizations and the coziness and all the things that I know should be ‘s’ instead of ‘z’ lol.

But seriously - this is such a good read and I love the characterization of Filch, and McGonagall and they are SUCH a good pair and I’m totally sold on them now.

This makes me want to write a Filchgonagall myself lol
