“Wh' you guys doin'?” He needed water, desperately, but Bruce and Jason seemed more content to stare at him with wide eyes instead.
Something about them looked... Off. Tim squinted, trying to pick it out. It wasn't quite uncanny, but just. Different.
Bruce was missing a few scars on his face, though it could have just been the lighting, and Jason—
Tim blinked, as if that would change the sight in front of him. The warning bells in his head began to clang, clearing the clouds out of his mind.
    ”Did you dye your hair?“

tim ends up in the wrong universe: one where batman doesn't exist. he's starting to feel like he's a cosmic joke at this point.

    Summary

Kabru decides that Laios needs an heir to secure his line of succession and invites ten ladies to get to know the king. Meanwhile Kabru and Laios maintain their friendship through a game. Kabru POV. Canon compliant unless I forgot something.

It had been three years since Laios had taken the throne, and people were beginning to talk. He needed a line of succession. The sooner, the better. As the first true king in a thousand years, it seemed important that the new system be a traditional one. One that didn't push boundaries and tensions between factions that were already strained. The simplest solution was biological, and for that, Laios needed a bride. Kabru had been the one to argue all of these facts.

    Summary

The wind whips around, rapid, and sharp with sand and grit.
Tim can’t see—there’s so much dust trapped between his eyelids that he can hardly tell if they’re even closed or not. It burns and stings, it fills his lungs, and all he can think about is his body, buried under a new dune of sand, and his family, so many miles away, not even thinking to look for him there.

And just as suddenly, the sun and sand and howling winds are gone.

    -----

In which the universe takes pity on Tim, just once, if it even was the universe at all.
(My take on the surprisingly common “Tim Drake finds himself in a different universe” trope.)

"Bloody Jesus." Soap shook his head, weapon down again, heart still high in his throat. "One of these days someone is gonna shoot ye for being a creep."

Ghost didn't even blink at that, fully stepping out of the small shadow that had been partially obscuring his bulk. He was geared up as usual, if usual meant having to take on an entire platoon by himself.

"I would like to see them try", he rumbled.

    --------

Or, five times Ghost did Soap a favor and the one time Soap had paid him back.

    Summary

Tim Drake is a solitary creature, whether by necessity or by natural predisposition. But he’s good at being alone. He’s learned to enjoy his own company, to take solace in his own cognizance. Aided by the brisk air of Gotham’s night air and a thrilling sense of independence, Tim learns that some things feel more special when you get to keep them for yourself. Unaccompanied walks down the school halls and singular movie tickets and dinners-for-one aren’t so bad when he can entertain himself with his own thoughts.

Tim has become so good at being alone, he can almost pretend he isn’t desperate for the unconditional love and companionship that a soulmate would guarantee.

It would be nice, Tim thinks, to have someone in his life who actually wants him. Someone who won’t leave every chance they get. Someone who enjoys his presence instead of merely tolerating it. Someone for whom he isn’t an obligation.

    Still his wrist remains blank.

    Until it doesn't.
