There’s red, staining the pure white.
Beautiful, he thinks, a shaky sort of smile curling his lips as his head is suddenly flooded with visions of smooth marble and curling, vivid mourning flowers. He’s interrupted, however, by a sharp cough that tears at his throat and a spike of pure pain in his right eye, mouth filling with the tang of iron, and it clicks that oh.
The red is his. He’s bleeding, bleeding and only now does he realise his cheek is cold because he’s pressed against snow (snow! he’s never seen it himself before-) and he can’t get up. His body feels heavy and warm, even with all of the ice that surrounds him.

Teyvat is, to put it simply, a shitshow at the moment. Tensions are running high between all seven nations, the Abyss is rousing, Celestia is tightening its grip on Teyvat, and Kaveh…
Kaveh isnt sure where he is, but this place was definitely NOT Sumeru.

A piece for my Teyvat World War AU that got out of hand because this premise was too interesting not too explore (and I love kaveh to bits, so into the blender he goes).

Summary
Kaveh regrets ever accepting this new commission. It is not the pay nor the project itself – both are to the architect’s satisfaction. No, the problem is the client and her obsession with Kaveh.
She believes them to be “destined for each other” and takes Kaveh’s rejection as playing hard to get. In his desperation Kaveh lies about having a boyfriend, a certain scribe he shares a home with and is oh-so madly in love with. Now he has to convince Alhaitham to play the part, when his client insists on meeting the “love of his life”.

Summary
Kaveh used to think that Alhaitham had mastered the art of ignoring him. The man would remain unflappable as he continued to read his worn copy of The Origins of Enkanomiyan Language, even when Kaveh was a hair’s breadth away from shattering the windows of their house with his severity of pitch.
No amount of screaming, threats to throw things, or violently waving in front of him could get Alhaitham to pause in his thirst for knowledge. As it turns out, Alhaitham literally just turns his hearing aids off so he doesn’t have to listen to Kaveh.
It’s for this exact reason that Kaveh has decided to learn Sumerian Sign Language.

Okay, so he's not dead. That's good. But what's this about him being stuck playing the character Tartaglia? Tartaglia, as in the no-good, one-dimensional, cartoonish villain who met his untimely, gruesome death in the first act of the original game?
Forget this. Like hell Ajax is going to share that fate.
And so begins one man's journey to save himself from his awful destiny.

Genuinely do I have to say anything about this. It’s so peak, and I’ll be honest I thought it was bit cracky at first (I’M SORRY) but I was proved wrong. I was proved so wrong. This fic is amazing and also permanently embedded in my mind. Will always be remembered by me. Holy Haikaveh fic. Genuinely changed my perspective on fics of this genre and just, it’s so genius, this whole thing, that I was genuinely dumbstruck a while after finishing this.
