Ilya is not going to steal Shane Hollander's dog. That would be illegal. And wrong. And someone would probably find out and make Ilya give him back.
So. Not stealing.
But there is nothing wrong with giving Chernysh all the pats and treats that he deserves, is there?
Nothing wrong with encouraging Chernysh to spend more and more time at Ilya's house until he doesn't even remember who Hollander is.
Because Hollander is stupid and boring and does not deserve a dog as good as Chernysh. No, he doesn't, does he? Because Chernysh is the best boy in the whole world, yes he is.

“Air France flight leaves in two hours, I–fuck–I have to–” Ilya says loudly, and then he sees Shane and stops dead.
“I packed for you,” Shane says.
Ilya stares at him. The living room is cold; it smells like fresh cigarette smoke, which is just as bad as stale but somehow discernably different. “Clothes, toiletries, your passport,” Shane says. “Do you need anything else?”
“Phone charger,” Ilya says.
“I packed that, too,” Shane says. He can feel himself begin to flush. Ilya does not say anything, but he does come closer to take the bags from Shane, both of them in one hand. He uses the other to grab the back of Shane’s head and reel him in for a kiss so hard and sudden that their teeth clack together, horribly. He smells like burnt nicotine and his mouth is cold and acrid and bitter. He says something in Russian against Shane’s mouth and then kisses him again and again and—

Summary
Eddie was well aware he had missed his chance. He knew it the second Buck told him he was bi and Tommy had kissed him. He knew it when Buck had spent a good chunk of Chim’s bachelor party talking about how hot Tommy was. He knew it when he’d made out with Tommy in a hospital waiting area before coming back to celebrate Chim and Maddie’s nuptials. Eddie knew all of this so well, almost as well as he knew Buck. And yet… And yet he still managed to be absolutely crushed by the news of Buck and Tommy’s engagement a year later.
