“I'm going to kiss all of your moles.” Ilya found himself gasping like a dry-drowning fish when his lover broke the kiss to say something utterly ridiculous. “They’re like stars in the sky.”
‘Why did you not tell me you were still concussed?” Ilya's hand got tight enough in silky soft dark hair that Shane winced. “You cannot order blemishes to become precious, moya printsessa.” This was one of those times when speaking Russian was easier than translating.
“And you don't get to decide what is precious to me.” Ilya blinked back the hateful flash of hot tears that stung the back of his eyes as Shane's plush lips touched the dark marks on his face and neck. “If I say you're the sky, you're the sky.”
Ilya huffed, but regretted it when it cracked through the control he still had on his emotions like stress on thin ice. “Okay, fine. You want to-” He swept a hand across his own body; the tension in the air felt like he'd just rubbed himself with fine grit sandpaper. “Stargaze? Be my guest.”
Or, Shane is feeling sleepy and snuggly. Ilya is needy. They compromise.

Chapter 24 of The Long Game, with a twist.
Ilya’s phone breaks during the plane’s emergency landing. He’s fine, but he has no way of letting the Hollanders know right away without outing his relationship with Shane. Considering their recent fight, he figures it is best to wait until he can contact Shane discreetly, which takes a few hours.
Shane finds out about the accident, and can’t get a hold of Ilya. His first thought is that he may have lost him forever and will never recover from it.
