Summary
Unfortunately, Dean is Dean, and you can't spell "denial" without the letters D-E-A-N.
"What? I can't call you 'buddy' anymore?" Dean asks a little sassily.
It’s easier to act like the angel is being emotional for no reason, rather than to face his own emotions that he’s been far too afraid to confront ever since the speech he received in the dungeon.
(TLDR: Dean is in denial after Cas's confession, gets jealous, then realizes that "friends" prob don't get jealous over their buddy banging another guy. Then they freak! Lol)

Summary
“What I want most isn’t sex, Dean. I want—I want you to love me. That’s my greatest desire. And you—you can’t give it to me, Dean. Not the way I want it. Not the way I love you.”
The words are soft, vulnerable, and it feels as if the very room has been transformed into a homemade confessional, because this is Cas confessing his dearest secret to Dean—again, always again—and this is Dean on the other side, not knowing how to respond. Heart racing, Cas’s figure blurring with his tears. This is the bunker dungeon all over again, with death knocking on their door, and this is Cas dying, again, because Dean is too afraid to give him what he wants.OR
Post-finale, after Jack rescues Cas from the Empty and brings him back to Earth as a human, Cas and Dean have yet to talk about his confession. Dean's avoidance of the subject was working perfectly—up until a routine hunt in which a witch curses Cas to die within 24 hours unless his greatest desire is fulfilled. Seems like they have some talking to do, after all.

Summary
The thing is, Dean is an idiot. That’s not news and he’s made his peace with that, but sometimes things would just be easier if he wasn’t. This right here, for example, wouldn’t be happening. But if there’s one thing Dean just can’t do, it’s talking about his feelings. So, he’s being an idiot. Sue him. If anything, this is on Cas, because if he follows the thread of events that lead to this, Cas fucking started it.

Or, the one where Dean rather locks himself in Baby’s trunk than confront his feelings.
