Summary
“Spock, I…” McCoy stopped again and swallowed, still not meeting Spock’s gaze. His voice came out almost strangled. “Well, I… I feel like I need to admit some things to you. I dunno if we’re gettin’ out of here and I just need you to know how I really feel. How I’ve always felt.”
He hung his head, then, as if he were doing and saying shameful things, as if he deserved to feel ashamed at all. Spock leaned forward, wishing he had the courage to close the gap between them and take McCoy into his arms.
“Yes, Doctor?” He prompted gently, expecting the sentiments of friendship, the admittance of the fact that they’d never really been enemies with one another, that McCoy’s playful antagonism had never been meant as true hostility.
McCoy drew in a deep breath, and then—
“I’m in love with you.”

Summary
“I assume you have some big speech to give me about being professional and logical about all this…” McCoy glanced away, puffing his cheeks before letting all the air out in one great whoosh. “…stuff.”
“Quite the opposite, Doctor.”
McCoy looked back at him, somehow even more guarded than before. “What do you mean?”
“To be blunt, I am in love with you.”

Summary
In the wake of the kal-if-fee on Vulcan, Kirk is dead. When T’Pau tells Spock to live long and prosper, he knows he shall do neither. This is a story about men who love each other, and the lengths they will go to for one another.
-
Foolish, he thinks. I have been a fool. How he had wanted so desperately to prove his Vulcan side. How all his life it had felt like a performance, and yet, to be finally subject to the most Vulcan thing of all destroyed him. The stripping of logic. All sense torn from him. His carefully constructed barriers had collapsed like a flimsy house of cards. To be granted his wish this way was a type of mockery. How he had wanted to be fully Vulcan. To prove that the blood which runs through his veins was not so human.
How wanting had been better than having.
