Her eyes dragged over Fount’s form. “Lest this turn into a celebration for Major Recluse.” She tilted her head, smiling faintly. “Something should be on the line to make this a real match, hm?”
Her gaze lingered. Fount’s skin prickled. Truthless’ fingers stilled against his waist. The air thickened just from Truthless' side of the table.
Truthless exhaled sharply through his nose, grip tightening until the embroidery bit into Fount’s skin. “White Lily,” he said, low and warning. “We are not gambling for him.”

The libraries of the Vanilla Kingdom had consumed his entire day, restoring ancient texts, decoding prophecies, cross-referencing star charts until his vision blurred. By the time he finally climbed the spiraling stairs to his chambers, his bones ached with the particular weariness of someone who had not slept properly in weeks.
He barely managed to change into his nightclothes before collapsing into the massive four-poster bed, its vanilla-scented linens enveloping him like a cloud. The candle beside his bed flickered once, twice, and then he was gone—drowning in a dreamless, merciful darkness.

Salt tilts his head curiously, stirring a little sugar into his tea before speaking. "Hey," he starts, voice casual but intrigued. "The other day I saw this weird thing where, uh, when you shake a jar of honey just right…it kind of sloshes like liquid for a second but then it instantly hardens again? Like magic."
He blinks at Fount expectantly, clearly hoping the Fount of Knowledge could explain such an odd observation. Fount’s expression dims instantly at the question—his pencil pausing mid-stroke. He hates when cookies treat him like an encyclopedia, constantly bombarding him with random inquiries just pbecause he’s “the Fount of Knowledge”. It makes him feel…reduced to his knowledge, not seen as a cookie. Even if he's made for that purpose and that purpose alone, he's also the only Virtue that doesn't have a life outside of his duties.
"It's just viscosity," he says simply, not elaborating further.
Or
Fount wants to be seen as him, not the Fount of Knowledge.
