“God, I feel like I’ve been hit by a train. Wait, no, I feel like I’ve fallen on the third rail and then got hit by a train.” With a groan, Mike rubbed his temples. Will’s eyes tracked the ring, glinting in the light.
“I’m right there with you,” Will said. Unable to hold back the question burning in his throat, he asked, “Do you remember how this happened?” He raised his left hand and gestured between them.
Mike paused. His lips parted, closed, and parted again. “With how bad this headache is, I can barely think. Do you know?”
“Ask me again when I’m more awake.”
