Carlos hates wedding and yet, here he is at 10 in the morning, searching for his cousin's wedding ideal gift. He hates his mother for forcing him to run her errands, up until he walks into the most peculiar shop he's visited.
Everywhere he looks, his eyes fall on what he believes to be the most intricate piece of ceramic he’s ever seen. Instinctively, Carlos wants to touch each piece he comes across, just to trace with his fingers the intricate patterns decorating them.
And then, he meets the shop's owner and everything changes.

Summary
The first time Max meets the prince of Monaco, he only sees a figure surrounded by a halo of white light. From where he’s sat on the ground, the sun shines rights into him and he has to squint his eyes to meet the deep emerald eyes of the prince. His breath hitches when he notices more and more details of the man’s face. He indulges himself in being drawn in by his complexion, pure as porcelain and magnifying the soft curls framing his face.
He wonders fleetingly if he’s hallucinating a meeting with an angel.

His trip to Bali was supposed to make him forget about Carlos. And it’s failing spectacularly.
Yet, it doesn't mean that after Indonesia, Lando decides to go back to Monaco.
Half his plants back at home should probably be dead by now and he can already imagine how stale the air inside of his apartment must have become.
But he can’t go back. Not when there's this uncomfortable weight resting heavily on his stomach whenever he starts to think of buying a flight ticket back there.
So, he keeps on flying away.

This sentence, if Max would later decide to trace down the single most important moment of his teenage years, won’t leave his mind for months to come.
And it comes from Lando’s mouth. Lando, the funny, awkward omega who has been his long-suffering teammate on Call of Duty ever since they got introduced to one another during a never-ending award show.
It doesn’t make sense in Max’s mind. For as long as he could remember, it never occurred to him that there could be more to his life than spending all his week-ends at the track, his nostrils filled with gasoline and his muscles driving around the circuit even when he’s asleep. Naturally, he had assumed it was the same for Lando.
