As the door slid open, the sound of voices floated up to her.
“How can you do all these spells?” It was Sirena, an air of astonishment laced her voice.
“I get it from my mother.” Mimmi responded proudly.
“Your mother?”
“Mimmi’s mother is the most powerful mermaid that’s ever lived.” Ondina responded.
Sirena’s astonished voice made its way back up the corridor again.
“Your mother’s Nerissa?”

It was supposed to be a normal expedition. A simple check-in at Ost-in-Edhil and then a trip back to Lindon to report to the High King. Sure it was an expedition that takes a little over a week to complete, what with the long trek to and from Eregion. But, it wasn’t anything Elrond hadn’t done before. But this time…it wasn’t an ordinary trip. This time…a friendship was established, one that would last for many many years to come between the most unlikely of races.
