Summary
Jazz and Prowl exchange a strange look, something that makes Megatron want to strangle them because he can’t decipher what it is. He pushes back the suspicion that they’ve caught onto his situation; it would be impossible for them to know. There is nothing different about Prime’s frame or processor from when Ratchet had scanned him during his forced berth rest. They cannot know about him.
“If you need an extended leave, don’t refrain from requesting it,” Prowl says after a small pause. “That was quite a blow to the helm you took.”
“A measly blow to the helm won’t deter me in the slightest,” Megatron snaps before he can think better. When he does think better, he reiterates to a wide-eyed Prowl, “that is, my helm is more than capable of taking a hit.”
Jazz laughs at that. It sounds strained.
“Sure,” he agrees, “yeah, sure. Hey, how many digits am I holding up?”

“I chose you.” Shockwave circles his arms around Bumblebee’s shoulders. “Megatron let me choose you.”
Shockwave’s words are more contagious than rust. It threatens to go beneath Bumblebee’s plating, feasting on his circuits until it’s one with him, until it breathes with him, and then it goes for his spark, spreading with every beat. Then, all that’s left is a husk for the Decepticon to take.
“If it were not for him, I would have never been here with you.” He sighs. “Megatron made me realize that I'd been created with a fatal flaw, an error within my very being that the Decepticons— and Megatron hadn’t filled, but just made me aware. It helped me realize what you were to me.”
“The Autobot you fell for, right?” Bumblebee muses, shocked that he even remembered those words. He curves head up and sees the glee in Shockwave’s optic, as if he was overjoyed to answer.
“Everything.” He answers, like that meant anything to Bumblebee. “And anything beyond that.” The war mech squeezes the mini-bot in his arms, his armor digging into yellow plates and leaving light gray scratches.
Oh.
Everything.
