It was just a stupid bet. Leona only agreed out of boredom and pride—and a long-held desire to finally knock that damn lizard from his high, untouchable pedestal.
He never expected to find himself falling for real. He never expected to learn that Malleus Draconia was nothing at all like how everyone perceived him, and that maybe they had more in common than he ever would have guessed.

He isn’t sure when it starts. There isn’t really a start date for these things. By their nature scars fade at a gradual rate. As days passed into months, months into years, Towa fell into a new kind of life. He wasn’t well. To say he ever would be was presumptuous. He had reached his own idea of peace, one where a desire for pain didn’t thrum under his skin constantly.
So, no. He isn’t sure when it starts. He only knows when he noticed it.

Summary
For Towa, “love” is a foreign word. He was not raised with love, he was not acquainted with it as a youth, and he certainly did not know it even after becoming an adult.
What does it mean to love someone? How does it feel to be loved by someone else? For as long as he lives, he has never known these feelings.
That is, until he meets Fujieda.
It makes him happy when he sees Fujieda eating the meals he makes.
It troubles him when he sees Fujieda exhausted, and he wants to do something to make him feel better.
It comforts him when Fujieda smiles at him and holds him as they sleep; no matter how many times those nightmares of the past keep haunting him, as soon as he sees Fujieda’s face, he will instantly feel that everything will be alright.
And it rattles him to the core, when the thought comes that this person may be gone from his life as suddenly as he arrives.
