Summary
“M’not a fucking kid!” Dennis spits.“Stop fucking calling me that.”
On the offensive, and unable to stop, Robby bites back: “Then stop fucking acting like one!”
Dennis slumps back into his chair, seceding silently, eyes glossing. Robby pinches the bridge of his nose in frustration.
“Jesus, I— Forget it. I can’t talk to you when you’re like this.” Robby tells him, pulling his jacket from the back of his chair. “Go home, delete our chat history. This never happened. Don’t ever tell a soul about this.”
Dennis laughs mirthlessly.
Robby is not amused. He zips up his jacket and leans down a little closer to the boy.
“I’m not fucking around, Whitaker. This stays between us. You need to take this to your grave.”

After a particularly prolonged dry spell, Dennis Whitaker decides to redownload Grindr. He doesn't realize the charming, anonymous, older man he's matched with is his Senior Attending until after they've already gone through a week of digital foreplay. Everything's a lot easier when you can't put a face to a name — or a name to a profile — isn't it?

Summary
There’s no real rationale to what Dennis asks next. His brain is overloaded with new information, which piles onto his already spiraling conundrum of attempting to explore his own sexuality. It causes a deadly concoction. The result?
“Can you kiss me?”
It’s blurted out with zero thought. An accumulation of I want to kiss a man that I trust and I trust Doctor Robby, followed by he has the experience, so he’ll know what to do.
The request shocks them both. Robby sits up straight, eyes widening and cheeks definitely flushing, Dennis is sure of it this time. He doubts he looks any better, slack-jawed and burning impossibly hot as his shoulders tighten up so high that he’s sure they’re reaching his ears.
OR
Dennis realizes he may not be straight after Amy kisses him. In an effort to find answers, he finds himself asking for Robby's help.

Summary
”I shouldn’t’ve—” Robby cuts himself off, swallowing thickly. “That shouldn’t’ve happened.”
Dennis’s chest caves in. He stares down at the crumpled tissues in his hands and blinks fast, refusing to cry here. Not like this, not in front of Robby. Not after what they just did.
“This can’t happen again, Whitaker.”
Dennis and Robby hook up in the back of Robby’s car. Robby tells Dennis it was a one-time thing, but they’re unable to stop it from happening again. And again and again.

Summary
“Still stressed?” He asks, and Robby thinks there’s a flash of something in his eyes that he can’t quite place.
Robby sighs, but not heavily. “Of course.”
Unfolding his arms, Whitaker reaches over and lightly touches Robby’s thigh—just above the knee. With a smirk, he says, “well, nothing that a good book won’t fix, right?”
The touch is burning. Scalding, even. And there’s an inflection in Whitaker’s voice that has alarm bells ringing in his ears.As Whitaker pulls his hand away, his fingers curl slightly, brushing more against his thigh before retracting completely. It can be considered innocent, along with the words. He holds a gaze with Robby, the smirk still present, taunting.
The kid is playing a dangerous game. And he knows it.
After a grueling shift, a doctor and a med student deal with stress in a mutually beneficial way.

Summary
It’s a pattern that Robby’s grown comfortable with in his flings; in week one he’s all in, but by week seven he’s itchy and ready for things to end. He’s never had a relationship clear the fifty day mark and it’s fine—that’s exactly how he likes it.
Enter Dennis Whitaker.

Summary
The stranger from the stairwell stops beside a bank of linen cabinets and folds his arms loosely across his chest.
No, not a stairwell stranger, Dennis reminds himself. His attending.
He opens his mouth. “Dr. Robby—”
“You are a fourth-year medical student on rotation in my department,” Dr. Robby cuts off, “and what happened in the stairwell this morning does not change that.”
Dennis swallows.Dennis Whitaker didn't need fate to tell him he was meant to be a doctor. He just really wasn't expecting his new attending on his very last rotation of medical school to say the words inked around his bicep.
