Buck huffed at him, rolling his eyes. “But you won’t abandon me if I get cursed? Even if I look like that corpse?”
Eddie scoffed, “Buck. Don’t be silly. You being pretty is, believe it or not, incidental to our friendship.”

‘I always wanted to be a Jedi as a kid. A long con for Halloween costumes would’ve just meant you secretly read my mind or something.’

Buck smiles at him, fond, and Eddie aches, he aches so much to tell Buck all the things about his big stupid gay awakening that he couldn’t tell his best friend when he came out to him during a quiet night sometime after Chris first texted him back in the summer. All the things that are so intimately tied to Buck.
‘You are,’ Buck says, quiet, eyes sparkling and Eddie’s a stronger man than he thought because he doesn't get on one knee in the middle of the kitchen and propose to another man's boyfriend. ‘Really good. At that.’-----
It's Halloween, Chris is heading back to Texas for a few days and Frank gives Eddie therapy homework to do something for himself, to let himself want things. Eddie enlists Buck's help and something shifts between them in the following week.

Summary
Castiel's spent most of his adult life keeping his head down and staying out of trouble. This is a deliberate choice on his part, because as a cousin of the King, he'd rather stay unimportant and forgotten. This changes abruptly when King Michael decides that he has a better use for Castiel: he is to be wed to a noble member of the neighboring Republic, as part of an agreement between their two nations.
