He doesn’t look exactly taken aback by the amount of times he’s illustrated on Yingxing’s pages; in fact, there’s the ghost of a smile etched on his face, softening his sharp features lightly.
Yingxing’s heart flutters. He’s so gone, head over heels.
“Was this what you were working on when I arrived?” Dan Feng asks in a murmur, tearing his eyes away from the drawing to meet Yingxing’s love-struck gaze.
Or; in his free days, Yingxing draws. While he doesn't usually allow people to take a peek at his notebook, an exception had to be made for his muse, of course.

“I’m courting you,” Dan Feng deadpans.
The response is so quick–as if it were as natural as breathing to the Vidyadhara–that Yingxing feels like he’s just been hit by a speeding starskiff.
“You’re… what?” Yingxing’s voice cracks.
“You swore an oath to me: If I still harbor love for you when I’m sober, an intimate relationship between us could be discussed.” Dan Feng’s tail snaps in agitation, and the look on his face makes it apparent that he thinks this is the stupidest question Yingxing has ever asked him in his life. Which is saying something because he thinks a lot of Yingxing’s questions are stupid.
Yingxing isn’t sure what’s going to kill him first: old age, his worsening migraine, or Dan Feng’s absolutely ludicrous audacity.
