When Adam du Mortain was shot outside a decrepit warehouse in the tiny town of Wayhaven, he didn't expect to find himself staring into the eyes of his soulmate above the barrel of a gun. He's hit with a tsunami of emotions - love, lust, longing, grief - but shakes off the bullet wound, and tries to push her away from his mind as if she was a passing stranger and he didn't know her.

Naerys had never thought she would wed either of her brothers, nor had there ever been a cause to. If she were to marry within the family, it would sooner be a cousin from King’s Landing, though there had been no pressing need for that either.
The dragons were long gone, there was little sense in clinging to old customs for the sake of blood alone. Father had never favoured such matches, mother even less so, so it was far more likely they would seek to mend and strengthen ties with the great houses of Westeros.
...still, she lay with her head resting against Daeron’s chest, listening to the slow, steady rhythm of his breath, while Aerion lay behind her, an arm tight about her waist. She felt his warmth at her back and his breath stirring her hair. Daeron was cold, Aerion ever too warm, but between them, she found a balance.
They were in Sunspear, in a castle that would soon be her home.
Prince Olyvar Martell, whom she was to wed, slept somewhere under the same roof.
