Dennis Whitaker has spent six years running from the family table. Raised by Hannibal Lecter and Will Graham after being rescued from a cult as a child, he's the only one of their children who couldn't stomach the family business. He changed his name, buried his past, and built a life as a young resident doctor at Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Center.

Then his fathers move to town.

    Featuring:

    • Dennis Whitaker, the world's most stressed resident

    • Dr. Michael Robinavitch, accidentally dating into a family of cannibals

    • Trinity Santos, asking the wrong questions at the wrong time

    • Hannibal Lecter, being a supportive father (his way)

    • Will Graham, noticing things he shouldn't

    • Thomas Graham-Lecter, the brother who didn't get the memo about boundaries

    • A loading dock, a hunting knife, and a very unfortunate family reunion

    Summary

“Look, I know I’m boring. And lame and… weird. I just… can you not say it? Every time? Or at least not every ten seconds.”

And suddenly Ilya saw the way Shane was trying to fold in on himself. Like he wanted to hide the parts of his life he had just let Ilya see. Now it looked like he regretted letting Ilya in. Or he expected him to laugh. Or leave.

    He crossed the room.

    “Shane.”

    Shane shook his head once.

    “I’m sorry. Forget it.”

“No,” Ilya said gently, crouching in front of him. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean it like that. I was teasing. I didn’t realize.” He paused, then said more firmly, “you’re not boring.”

    Shane scoffed under his breath.

“I mean it,” Ilya said, ducking his head to try to catch his eye. “You’re the most specific person I’ve ever met. It’s fascinating. I love the way your brain works. And the way this house feels like you.”

    ----------------

A fluffy/smutty one shot set some time between Tampa and Boston in 2017 where Shane invites Ilya to spend the weekend with him in Montreal.

    Summary

“The twins are having some big feelings about being disappointed,” Jackie explained. “We tried to get tickets for Taylor Swift in Toronto next year. But Ticketmaster was… Ticketmaster.”

“Ah,” Shane said, wincing in immediate sympathy. “Bummer. Aren’t there resale ones, though?”

Hayden dropped onto the opposite end of the sectional with a beer in hand and snorted.
“Yeah, for like, the price of a small car. I am not paying that much for a concert.”

“Why not?” Ilya drawled, turning his head toward Hayden. “You do not have money for resale?”

Hayden didn’t even look at him. “I have money. I just also have sense.”

“Ah.” Ilya nodded thoughtfully. “So Montreal paid you so little you must budget carefully. Makes sense. Fifteenth best player on team, yes?”

“Hey,” Shane said. “Maybe don’t start a fist fight in our living room.”

Ilya looked up at him, entirely unrepentant.

“I am helping,” he said. “He says he cannot afford tickets. I am investigating.”

Hayden scoffed. “You wanna help? You buy them, then.”

“Okay.” Ilya reached for his phone. “Done."

    Summary

Shane scratched the back of his neck. “Rose, uh… she figured it out. Us. Our history. All of it.”

Ilya turned his head slowly, disbelieving. “Figured it out?”

“To be fair, you and I weren’t exactly subtle in Montreal,” Shane said, sheepishly.

    Ilya huffed, scowling.

“So, she knows.” He swallowed. “Everything?”

“I mean, not all the gory details,” Shane said, shrugging. “But enough.”

There was a pause long enough for the surf to swell and retreat twice.

“And? What?” Ilya asked finally, jaw tight. “She is… disgusted?”

    Shane actually snorted. “Uh. No.”

    “No?”

“No,” Shane said again, dragging a hand down his face. Then, half-laughing, “She, um. She thinks it’s fucking hot.”

    ---------

Or, in essence, what if Rose clocks Shane and Ilya in Montreal, she's like, I want two boyfriends and I want the boyfriends to be boyfriends, too. God gave me two hands for a reason.
