Summary
Seth side-eyed Iris, then snorted a laugh when she made a talking motion with her hand. “Uh huh.”
« Iris, I saw that. My point is, it is frankly insulting that you immediately assume I did something bad— »
“Peri broke protocol on its last cargo run,” Iris interrupted loudly.

Or, Seth finds out that the surprises never end when your kid is a giant homicidal starship.

Summary
The most important relationships in ART's life are with the humans who raised it, and for whom it is now both home and friend. But ART lives almost entirely in the feed, where it is imperceptible to the humans unless it makes an active effort to be perceived. Struggling to be seen and understood, and to understand the humans who are its whole world, it turns to the thing it knows best: research.

Summary
Din picks up the job for two reasons. He needs money instead of beskar, the client is offering money, and it’s a simple transportation job. Perhaps that should have been a flashing warning light in the back of his head. The amount of credits being offered doesn’t align with the apparent ease of the job. Din though, is three days into an empty purse so anything is worth it. The client approached him on Tatooine of all places, waving him off the streets under the Boonta Eve fireworks, and into a quiet alley that stank of piss. Their face had been covered but their height had been off putting, short compared to the gravely, heavily modulated voice that came from the being. Still, Din had listened to their request: the discreet transportation of one human and one droid, to the moon Umia so close to the Unknown Regions it might as well be in it. Din is not a taxi service and he had been planning on telling this person such, but then a mound of credits and a wired transaction code for the rest of the money were held out in worn leather gloves, and well. Din apparently is a taxi service.
