He tried to pull his arm away from whatever tugged at it, and tried once more, fruitlessly, to move his other arm to assist. His body was heavy and numb and tingly, and barely managed to shift his head to the side to see Kakavasha in the chair beside him.
Why wasn’t he in bed with him? What was wrong? Was he sick..?
Suddenly, Kakavasha was reaching over to gently push his arm back onto the bed, and he was speaking to him. “Don’t move—you’ll pull out your IV. Just—just stay here, okay? I’ll be right back, I-I’ll just get a nurse. You’re okay, you’ll be okay.”

“Like what you see?” He laughs, teases.
“Yes.” The admission is barely even a whisper, meeting the air between the two of them– Aeons, Veritas is only an inch away at this point– and lingering there. Aventurine can hear his heartbeat in his ears and his breathing is suddenly far louder than it needs to be. He can’t help himself. He glances down at those plush lips before lifting them back up to those sunset eyes that seem much more intense than they were just a second ago.
Aventurine invites Veritas over for some drinks. It turns out that the wine he bought was even more potent to Veritas’ species than his own however. He has no complaints.

“We can’t proceed like this.”
The bed creaks. The oppressive presence is gone, and Aventurine’s hips are freed. His eyes snap open.
“Wh-what do you mean?” He doesn’t mean to stammer, but it slips out.
Ratio is already pulling his underwear back over those same imprisoning thighs. The look that follows is one of disdain or perhaps disgust. “You’re trembling like a leaf. Or had you not noticed?”

He couldn't stomach the thought of his workplace's reaction to him requesting his scarce amount of paid leave to clean. He could blow his arm right off and Jade would be asking if he could come into work that afternoon. "The IPC doesn't stop accumulating wealth for the Amber Lord just for anything, y'know."
"I already calculated it—" of course he did "—And the time it will take for two people to clean to recommended standards is approximately six hours."
"Wait, hold on," Aventurine interjected, "Two people?" As in Ratio was planning on helping him?
