Summary
Charles lifts a neon blue fizzy drink for Edwin to sip. The soft, wet inside of his bottom lip brushes Charles’ knuckle and they meet each other’s gaze. Unwise. Heat surges low in Charles’ belly when Edwin’s pretty eyelashes flutter, and he has never wished to be elsewhere more.

Summary
Matters come to a head, despite Edwin’s best efforts, less than a month later and at, of all things, a party. Edwin is hardly interested when the invitation first comes around, but Charles convinces him to attend with truly dastardly means of persuasion: widened eyes and quivering, all-too-kissable lips and his cajoling voice dropped low, weaving the devastating display together. C’mon, Edwin, can’t I show you off for a bit?
Or: A drunk Edwin reveals slightly more than he meant to.

Summary
Edwin knows this is new for Charles. He understands, when Charles wants to take it slow. When they are kissing—because kissing is something they do, now—and Charles pulls back just when Edwin can feel it getting heavy, huffing something about not wanting to rush things.
Edwin can give Charles time to get used to this; as much time as he needs. He can satisfy himself with daydreams and thoughts of Charles in the meantime, as long as it takes for Charles to be ready for more. Forever, if he never is.
But god, Edwin does not want it to be forever.
—
After beginning a romantic relationship, Edwin assumes Charles is not yet ready for sex due to his unfamiliarity with same-sex relations, and Charles assumes Edwin is not yet ready for sex due to his unfamiliarity with any-sex relations. Naturally, they do exactly zero communication about this.

Summary
Suddenly there's a presence behind them. "What on Earth is happening?" Edwin asks.
Charles and Crystal turn to look at him, his unimpressed expression. He does not seem overly concerned really, and then he looks at Charles and gasps. He must look particularly dashing, silhouette framed by the fire.
"Revenge, Edwin." Charles grins. "Crystal's idea."
Or, Crystal adjusts to London, her new friends, her new job, and her new life. It's not all easy.
