“So no action in this twin bed, either?” Matt asks.
“Only with myself,” Foggy says, “but I am, of course, a very tender lover.”

“…did she just say fuck?” Matt says, faintly. “Was that her first word?”
He’s better at recognizing what Mary’s saying when she’s delightedly or angrily or sleepily babbling at them. But Foggy was already pretty sure that their tiny, adorable, grinning daughter, bouncing in Matt’s arms, just said, “Fuck!” in a charming baby slur.
“We ruined her,” Foggy says. “We have to exchange her for a new one.”
Matt’s quiet for a long time and Mary falls quiet, too, looking between them with clear suspicion.
“I’m trying not to laugh,” Matt says, slowly and evenly, lips twitching, “so we don’t validate it.”
“She does love getting a laugh,” Foggy agrees, biting his lip.
“Who do you think she learned that from?” Matt asks, but he’s smiling, shifting Mary so she’s sitting on his hip, one hand fisted in his t-shirt.

Matt turns back slowly, halfway to his bedroom.
“What?” he asks, face surprisingly difficult to read.

Gus asks if he can use Shawn’s laptop to check his stocks, and Shawn, barely paying attention, says, “Go ahead, Uncle Pennybags. Wait—Scrooge McDuck? Richie Rich? Wolf of Wall Street? There’re so many choices.”
Five seconds later, he hears a tinny, distinctly male voice moan, “Fuck me, daddy, please,” and Gus make a surprised noise and immediately slams the laptop shut.
Maybe if Shawn sits very still, Gus won’t be able to see him.
