Summary
[They haven’t done anything wrong, and Mr. Beck is a good man; those are what Eli has been repeating in his head for the past 10 minutes, and what keep him from squirming and making an active attempt to flee the house. At the side next to him at the square table, Aesop is trying – and failing – to disappear into his shirt. He throws Eli a fleeting look, nervous and ten-shades uncomfortable and pleading and I told you we shouldn’t have snuck into his backyard just to see the butterflies, before his gaze scurries back to the host’s enormous back, turned toward them.]
A series of one-shots set in the countryside, where everyone is relatively happy and no one killed anyone or stole someone else's wife or dying because of a disapproving in-law.

Summary
Gosh, I hope you can pick this signal up. It took Rocky and I weeks to fix and calibrate the radio transmitter. You won’t be able to get an answer to me until years from now, so I’m just gonna operate like you’re listening. Get ready to hear from me a lot, because as much as I love the one guy I have here to talk to, he doesn’t always appreciate my jokes. You know, cultural context and stuff.
Earth begins to receive messages from Dr. Ryland Grace, and eventually sends a few back.

Summary
Jean asks for a favor. Neil finds himself at the center of a territorial squabble. It's him. He's the territory.
“But why me?”
“You are my only good option. Aaron is straight. Andrew is rabid. Allison and Seth are on and off so often it’s impossible to keep track. Dan and Matt are a couple and getting them both to agree to pretend to date me would be harder. Renee doesn’t like men. Katelyn is lovely but Aaron would be angry. I don’t know which of the others started or stopped dating over the summer. That leaves you."
“What about Kevin?”
Jean scoffs. “You cannot be serious.”
“He’s…” What is Kevin? Not any better at telling Riko ‘no’ than Jean is, and, subsequently, probably not great at lying to him. Also, is it really believable that Kevin would jeopardize the team and their athletic careers by shitting where he eats? Probably not. Kevin’s amended hierarchy of needs just has the word EXY at the base. Somewhere far above that are pedestrian concerns like ‘food’ and ‘water’ and ‘shelter.’
“Taller,” Neil finishes lamely. “He’s taller.”

Summary
“Rocky not explain question?” asked Adrian slowly.
“Busy,” said Rocky, sheepish.
“Had four years on ship.”
“Busy then too.”
Adrian skittered back and forth, which I think equated to a human throwing both hands up in exasperation. “With what question?”
“Science!”
“Whole time science question? Four years!”
“Is much science in universe!”--
Rocky has neglected to explain some very important cultural context to Grace.
