Summary
The summer of 2012 was supposed to be a good one. Niko Sasaki was on the brink of teenagerhood - not that she particularly cared about that. So far, all that meant was having to stuff pads into her underwear whenever her period decided to show up. Not a big deal, really. Plus, her family had finally saved up enough to leave their land-locked state and take a week-long vacation in Florida! Niko hadn't seen the ocean before, and her Japanese parents had talked about it enough that she was raring to go and see what the fuss was about. This summer would truly change the rest of her life - though not necessarily for the better.

“I hope they remember you.” Thanos raised his hand, stones glowing.“Wait, wait, stop, please!” Peter’s ribs ached, his lungs trembling with the need for air, but Peter couldn’t stand there and watch Mr. Stark die, he just couldn’t. With a thwip of his webs, he slid in between Mr. Stark and Thanos. “Can’t we talk about this?” He pleaded.
“Kid, don’t.” Mr. Stark gasped.
“There is nothing to say. The universe must be saved and this is the only way.” Thanos’s eyes on Peter chilled him to the bone. Peter had seen a lot since he started running around Queens as Spider-Man. A lot. He’d seen crazy eyes, angry eyes, sad eyes, eyes full of grief, eyes full of fear. Never before had he seen such emotionless eyes as those Thanos had. There was no hate, anger, or fear in those eyes. They were completely calm.
They didn’t look crazy at all, and it was terrifying to see when he knew just what the Titan had planned.

Then he took a deep breath and he changed. He ironed out every fold in his posture and his face until he looked like Superman again. His shoulders were broad, his gaze was confident, and his smile showed no sign of embarrassment or fear.
It’s genuinely uncomfortable to watch.
Especially since Bruce knows that change. He’s seen it in the mirror before entering parties or nightclubs. He’s always referred to it, internally, as 'putting on my better face.' The façade is his least favourite part of the day, ranking just below 'getting punched by supervillains.'
The idea that Superman is just Kal's better face, that would explain a lot.
It would also mean Bruce isn't alone.
