Summary
Kaveh doesn’t give up, he doesn’t ignore.
No, Kaveh simply cares too much.
He cares too much about what other people perceives him as, and he does everything to meet and replicate that high standard he fought for.
He cares too much about how other people would feel, often neglecting himself in the process.
Kaveh forgets himself in decisions, limits, and even now.
Even now, as Alhaitham glanced down at Kaveh’s limp arms hanging by his sides, his entire right arm bloody and twitching in pain, he saw the way Kaveh used the sink mirror to see every inch of Alhaitham’s reaction in horror, never once giving any acknowledgment to the gashes, only focused on how Alhaitham interpreted this.
But Alhaitham saw only Kaveh.
And he wanted him to know.
Kaveh and Alhaitham both are trying their best

Summary
Saving Sumeru together may have repaired many of the long-standing fractures in Kaveh and Alhaitham's relationship.
... Sadly, it did nothing to cure Kaveh's terminal obliviousness.
“One - one more time?!”
Alhaitham huffed softly through his nose. “Kaveh. I’m in love with you.”
Kaveh’s hands shot upward to grasp tightly at his wrists, keeping Alhaitham’s palms pressed against his face like the contact would re-ground him in reality. “I must be going crazy. I’m hearing things...”
With a slow, long-suffering sigh, Alhaitham shut his eyes briefly with exasperation. Then, finally giving in to the fact that Kaveh was simultaneously the smartest - and most idiotic - man he’d ever met, he leaned forward and dipped his forehead to rest against his.
“Let me clarify another way, then,” Alhaitham breathed, nudging their noses together gently.

Summary
When he looks down, he's met with the sight of Aventurine looking up at him, pupils blown wide and tongue darting out to wet his lips. "We could play a little," the absolute vixen whispers. "Please?"
Ratio doesn't answer immediately. Instead, he tips his head back to stare at the roof, traces the subtle patterns there as he fights to think beyond anything that isn't libido-induced recklessness. Technically, they aren't working right this moment. They're dressed plainly, and they blend in with the crowd of city residents and tourists alike. Nobody seems to be paying any attention to them — and if anyone has looked their way, it must have been brief.
Heart pounding in his ears, Ratio lowers his head and can't quite meet Aventurine's eyes when he breathes out — "Alright."
While waiting for Business Matters TM to resume, Ratio and Aventurine go sight-seeing. ... but Aventurine decides, instead, he wants to torment Ratio today.

Summary
Kaveh jolted awake with an immediate, jarring sense that the world was somehow incorrect - the way a loud alarm jerks someone into consciousness before they’re ready to rejoin the waking world. As his eyes flew open, he took in the familiar ceiling of his and Alhaitham’s home... but that only made his unease worsen.
Blinking rapidly, he pushed himself upright with a clumsy lurch, oddly disconnected from his own body - as though his limbs had forgotten their obedience to the structure of his mind. But as he rolled his shoulders, expecting the familiar discomfort and stiff cracks he’d long since accepted as an inevitable consequence of waking up every morning, all he felt was warm, smooth muscle moving fluidly beneath his skin.
A lot of muscle.
... Too much muscle.
Why was there so much muscle?!

Summary
Kaveh can't keep doing this.
"Why," he asks, making sure his glare is particularly scathing, "did you order your soup, and I quote, 'without the broth?'"
"It's how I eat it while reading," Alhaitham replies, which — is frankly an insane thing to say. Like, generally.Or: Alhaitham orders increasingly ridiculous deliveries... and Kaveh, his Doridasher, is collateral damage.
