Shane’s brow furrows. “Because you’re not.”
“I feel like I am.”
Shane’s hand comes up to cradle his jaw. Warm palm with gentle pressure on his skin. “You look like someone doing something hard.” Something in Ilya’s chest cracks open again, but softer this time.
(ie. ilya has a very rough day at therapy and comes home to shane to process it all and feel comfort)

Kiyoomi’s eyes only flicker up then.

Saying that the world had stopped spinning would be an understatement. Atsumu felt the moment his soul left his body while he stood there in front of the mirror, his reflection gaping back at him in horror. But Atsumu was already attached to the name. “Omi-Omi! Let’s go!” Shamelessly, he grabbed him by the hand and tugged him behind him. He felt responsible for him — the boy clearly needed all the protection and guidance he could get. Atsumu can be his hero.
