Summary
It's impossible to make much out of them. Their clothes are loose and dark, hiding their figure. A hood- belonging to a jacket almost identical to the one Lukey's attacker was wearing- covers their hair. Their face is equally hidden. All Lukey can see are their hands, and those hands are shaking as the villain turns to face him.
Lukey coughs and tries to stand, fails, and flops back onto the ground. Flames from the explosion lick at the soles of his shoes, and smoke fills his lungs. It smells like barbecue.
A cough, and then, from the villain: "Did they hurt you?"

Summary
In a world of gods and humans, Lukey definitely falls into the latter category. He has a normal life and a piece of shit neighbor (who he hates), he's about to start training to become a doctor... and he's the final remaining worshiper of the God of Trickery. Because everybody says that Trickery died one thousand years ago, but Lukey knows that They aren't dead. (Unlike that idiot Pangi, who is the final remaining worshiper of the extremely dead God of Strife.)
Trickery isn't dead, Lukey is a human, and the gods are preparing for war again. But, really, is that Lukey's problem? (The God of Death sure thinks it is!)

So Pangi stood toying with his fingernails, his coach Bad next to him trying to tip toe around the very clear tension, while they wait for his new figure skating partner to land.
“So… what do you think he’ll be like?” Bad asks looking around at the crowd of people waiting for loved ones and strangers alike. The cool white tone taking any warmth out of the room.
Or
Pangi has a new figure skating partner, not a lot of time and a dream to go to the Olympics.
