Summary
Freshly graduated Dr. Aranell Doll, an Appalachian archaeology PhD candidate, is struck by lightning while testing a gaming rig at a Chicago Gaming convention. She awakens shivering in a Russian airbase in Kazakhstan, bewildered, thrust straight into the 'Cliffhanger' mission from Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
She's in the world of COD:MW, 9 years in the past, just 6 days before the countdown to World War III begins.
Despite some interesting skills, she's just an academic who wrote her dissertation on the very game she's now in. She knows everything: Price rotting in Petropavlovsk gulag. Shepherd plans to betray TF141. Makarov’s massacre at Zakhaev International Airport. And Soap will die.
Yet her arrival has splintered the timeline. The two COD:MW storylines are merging. As the timelines change, bonds form. Soap, the charming Scottish captain, wins her over with humor and passion. Ghost, once Shepherd’s unwavering shadow, questions everything when Aranell tests his loyalty. Price, hollowed by 3 years in the gulag, begins to see her not as a tool but as an anchor. What develops is not a simple romance but a connection between four wounded souls seeking solace as the world teeters on the edge.

Summary
Life is stressful. Work, people, the lack of sleep, it's hell, really.
However, maybe ending up in your favourite video game series where zombies are constantly trying to turn you into their next meal might be a tiny bit more stressful.
Not that you mind all that much if it means you get to see Leon Kennedy from up close, have him save you from time to time, grow way attached to him as if your fictional crush on him wasn't bad enough, have him grow attached to you, maybe kis- who said that. Not you.
Anyway, survival and finding out how to exit the game first, trying to help reduce Leon's list of traumas second, escaping third, right?
