Summary
Being part of the Cloud Knights for as long as he has, he’s watched comrades tear themselves apart for scraps of reprieve, heard tell of jaded immortals who reveled in their own destruction just to feel something, experimented with several unsavory coping mechanisms himself. But nowadays, Jing Yuan has various outlets outside of work and war: meditation, Mimi, his garden.
What does Yanqing have other than blades?
With the Stellaron Crisis still unfolding and the general out of commission, work has never been so hectic aboard the Luofu. Stress takes its toll upon Yanqing in a way that Jing Yuan never expects.

Summary
Dan Heng crosses his arms. “It’s my duty to ensure no harm comes to the passengers of the Astral Express.”
“I highly doubt anyone’s gonna attack us in a clothing store.”
He tilts his head downwards, causing his bangs to cast a shadow over his sharp eyes. “Complacency creates opportunity.”
Oooooookay, March thinks, this guy’s a weirdo.
March may not remember much about herself, but she does understand certain things—like how to style the best outfits, make killer ice cream sundaes, and push Dan Heng’s buttons.
(Or: in her first weeks on the Astral Express, March tries to get along with Dan Heng—keyword being tries.)

Summary
“I recently spoke with Rex Lapis. He informed me that our contract has been nullified, and he tasked me with finding a new purpose. I interpreted this to mean he wishes for me to live a mortal life of leisure."
The Traveler glances up at the ceiling in thought. “That sounds like spending your time doing what you enjoy.”
Xiao sees the moment an idea pops into his head; he sets a sheet of paper and a pen on the floor between them, abuzz with energy.
“Xiao,” Aether begins, grinning in a way that shows his teeth, “have you ever heard of a bucket list?”
After giving Rex Lapis his thanks for rescuing him in the Chasm, Xiao is assigned a new task: live leisurely, unburdened by his contract. This novel freedom leaves him grappling to find a new purpose amidst a Liyue that no longer needs him.
Luckily, there are a myriad of people willing to teach him what it means to live like a human.
(Or: a continuation of Xiao’s Healing Arc™ post-Chasm.)

Summary
There’s a hand on his shoulder gently shaking him awake. Willow hovers over him, clenching her jaw. “Spar with me.”
Hunter knows what she’s searching for: an outlet, a punching bag—therapy through violence, distraction through pain.
“Okay,” he agrees, voice breathy.
Willow and Hunter spar.

Summary
The moon spills scarlet blood over the heavens as if it’s bleeding with them. Beyond the crimson veil, the stars glitter patronizingly—how could you forget, they mock, that stars are celestial bodies for a reason?
“A glimpse of the sky…” Dainsleif glances back down, huffing something like a laugh, “is that not a wish worth fighting for?”
Barbatos makes a keening noise, the slope of his shoulders trembling. “Ah,” Barbatos laments, wobbly, bringing his hands up to cover his eyes, “why is everything in this world doomed to repeat?”
"A thousand years have passed since the God of Anemo left this land. But for me, it has only been half that time."
(Or: Barbatos and Dainsleif meet at the end of the world.)

Summary
Xiao’s eyes narrow. “Didn’t I just tell you to not waste your time on me? Adepti have no need for comfort.”
“And I told you it’s not a waste,” Aether replies. “In any case, isn’t that the point of comfort—that technically, you don’t need it to survive?”
“A human construct,” Xiao agrees. “I have no need for such unproductive things.”
He sighs. “Xiao,” the Traveler begins softly, and his words are practically tangible—gently prying apart the walls he puts up, “people spend their entire lives searching for a respite from their pain, and you won’t even let me give you a shred of comfort.”
After confronting the spirit of Bosacius, Xiao is left with much to process.

Summary
When the world falls silent, Kokomi whispers, “Have we met before?”
Bathed in silver, he looks every bit as ethereal as the moon, and every bit as old, too. When he speaks, a thousand winds speak with him. “Not like this.”
Istaroth, ever the author, never writes a meaningless moment. He looks at her like he knows everything she doesn’t.
A Shining Shade and Dragonheir meet again.

Summary
”I wonder if I have anything to my name that isn’t stolen or eroded away.”
“This temple,” the Traveler says, “is to you, is it not?”
Venti shakes his head. “It was built for Time and Wind.”
The Traveler blinks. “They omitted her name?”
“No.” He sounds too much like a bard sitting in the hands of a statue with a bottle of cider. “They forgot it.”
Erosion terrifies the heavens, but the Anemo Archon is unworried. After all, time is a typhoon comprised of swirling winds.
That said, even the wind isn’t free from time. They may claim to change direction, but they’ll always return to one.
(Or: Venti, Aether, and the shackles of freedom.)

Summary
The Plane drones with a familiar silence. It has been silent for five-hundred years. The Traveler breaks this, too. “I don’t think you are being dishonest,” the Traveler tilts his head. “I think you are being different.”
Change: the enemy of eternity. Ei has slain many enemies, yet she can’t seem to kill ambition. Why?
Conceptually, ‘change’ and ‘eternity’ couldn’t be more incompatible. A static world has no tolerance for variables.
But even the perpetual Heavenly Principles are shadowed by the inevitability of erosion. Nothing is immune to change when change itself is eternally present.
(Or: Ei, Aether, and the eroding definition of ‘eternity.’)

“If you had found that tower and were forbidden from saving all you had left, would you have stood by and listened?” The King opens and closes his mouth, his hands furling and unfurling. Queen Arianna’s eyes narrow. “If you sit here and tell me you would’ve stayed, you’re a liar.”
Not one person, not even the Princess herself, had expected Varian to walk out of the throne room with nothing.
The details of Varian’s official pardon.

Summary
“Would you say the ice is alive? The wind? Lightning? Rock? The leylines are rays of light, tree roots, archives, yet elementals,” he lays his hand on his chest, “still spring from them, and I am very much alive.”
“A living being born from a nonliving source,” Albedo agrees. “I am the opposite: fake hands forged by living hands. A creation. An abstraction.”
Barbatos tilts his head. “Yet, longing for an identity is the most human concept of all.”
Albedo is a synthetic creation, a counterfeit playing human. No-one else seems to agree.

Summary
Teppei’s laughter rings loudly and his smile is blinding, and that’s all that really matters. Aether likes making Teppei smile.
Aether likes making Lumine smile, too, but he lost her. Perhaps she and Teppei are similar after all.
Mechanical, saturnine, the Traveler is famed for being an untouchable force of nature, an undecipherable enigma. Aether, however, does not attach easily, but when he does, he cares deeply and wholly.
It will never happen again.
