There was something else that fascinated Dottore about the Eleventh, too: he did not kiss. Perhaps he thought it too intimate, or something in Dottore’s scarred face repelled him. The reason did not really matter, but Dottore did so enjoy uncovering the answers to curious little questions. He always took careful notice of the boy’s physical reactions, of his expressions in the height of his pleasure - and, well. There were theories forming that, given the chance, he would dearly like to test. Which as it turned out, was sooner than he'd expected.

Summary
As the Fatui's schemes progress towards the point of no return, Childe grows concerned with the Second Harbinger's suspicious behavior. Having a personal investment in the matter, he decides to do some investigating on his own. The Eleventh is no stranger to manhunts, but uncovering Dottore's true intentions will not be a simple task. How does one track down a man who is simultaneously everywhere and nowhere at once? And can one even be sure that they've found what they're looking for when they see it, in a situation where it's so easy to lose sight of the forest for the trees? Only one thing is immediately certain; the Doctor's many Segments certainly don't intend to make it easy for him.

Fuck. He knew, logically, that he shouldn’t. Zandik was older, more important, and could make his life absolute hell here if he wanted. Or worse, get him fired. Ajax might have been young but he wasn’t stupid, and fucking around with someone who was - while not quite his boss - definitely his superior, would unequivocably not be a sensible decision.
Ajax always was impulsive.

I’ve gotten your letters, Kaeya. I’m fine. I know it feels like I’ve ran away and gone like last time but I promise you that I’m okay. Give your bird a rest. My mission is going well, I cannot spare you the details as I wouldn’t want to endanger you or our friends.
Though I will say this, I think I’ve got them under my thumb. They’ve began to let their walls down. It’s funny isn’t it? Me talking about breaking someones defenses down. But, it’s working. Being a hypocrite isn’t a crime, right?
