Summary
Sirius escapes Azkaban in August 1993. He has two goals: 1) Find Harry, 2) Kill Peter Pettigrew.
Sirius turns up at the Dursley's to check on Harry and things do not go as planned... but that's okay because what he finds is better.
"Sirius had been expecting the house to be grey, dark, and stale, but as he crossed the threshold he was hit with the smell of cooking food and the sounds of a warm crackling fire. As he walked through the foyer he found he was in the direct eye-line of a man, a familiar looking man who stood with impeccable posture at the long kitchen table cutting carrots. The man was of average height (slightly taller than Sirius), slim build, and had dark black curly hair that he kept tucked behind one ear. He continued chopping vegetables in tailored black slacks, heavy leather boots, and an expensive looking gray wool sweater. Most curiously about his appearance was the emerald green apron that was fitted around the man's waist that read “World’s Greatest Uncle” in silver lettering. "

Summary
children have a way about them. they simply know bad, and good, and that funny in between wherein they insist everyone is capable of redemption and forgiveness. all children no matter their origin are his children. that the act of simply being innocent and free of the weight of the world, makes them his domain. as the weakest of the gods, his promises to protect them all are usually met with fond eye rolls and light sighs. nevertheless, it's a promise he makes every morning, with every gentle breeze and newly formed cloud.
barbatos has only broken that promise twice in his entire lifetime. he does not intend to break it again.
instead he finds a young kaeya, in the middle of a storm.
