At any moment James and his baby could disappear. Rogers’s legs are healed by now, and he’s hunting for James and the baby. It’s only a matter of time before he comes and takes them away.
Not long ago Brock was considering calling Rogers himself, telling him to come get his bitch off Brock’s front steps. Now he thinks he’d die to protect them, and he’s not even sure he needs to protect them. Rogers is supposed to be the pinnacle of a good alpha, he should know better than anyone how to handle James. Knows at the very least, how to avoid having sex with him.
Brock can’t stand the idea though. James is his now. James has to be his. James and the baby.

In which Bucky and Steve made a regretful but necessary decision in 1934 (and again in 1943), and Bucky and Tony make a much better one in 2016.

The soldier must switch with his variant in another timeline to study the weaknesses of Steve Rogers to ultimately defeat him. But the soldier is unprepared for the relationship his variant has built with Steve and must act unsuspiciously as a committed boyfriend.
...
The soldier learned about kissing briefly but he wasn't prepared for it this quickly. He panics for the slightest moment but then recalls the most emphasized advice he was given: When in doubt, copy everything the subject does.
So he copies Steve, moves his lips the way he does, sticks his tongue into the blond man's mouth when he feels a tongue invade his. It's a lot of mental thinking in the end but when they finally part Steve looks happy with the result.

Summary
Bucky had to wonder how much more willing Sam would be towards an olive branch with the two if he hadn't just got done pissing the man off. If he didn't continuously voice his own aggravations towards Walker and Sam's decision on handing over that shield.
But he also didn't really care.
He takes steps backwards as Sam turns to leave, eyeing Walker again to catch some twist of disappointment and irritation. Though those blues lock with his own again, stopping whatever comment the blonde was about to say.
Bucky narrows his own, challenging him to say more, before that look twists to something darker and somehow more irritated.
"Wait," John says, "Just— Hold on for a minute."
Buck didn't have to break the glare to know Sam stops, or to fully catch the look that Lemar gives his partner. None say a word, waiting to hear what Walker decides on trying.
"I want to talk with Bucky. Alone. Whatever this is," He motions, "It's not helpful for any of us. We're adults, Bucky. I want to put whatever this is to rest."
