Summary
Father’s words were still echoing in her ears, but in a nonsensical out of order loop: Marriage. Arranged. Alliance. Konoha. Treaty. Duty.

Summary
The councilor looks up at her. “Any questions?”
“No, Sir.”
He nods.
“Good,” he says, not seeming to care too much about the situation at hand. Perhaps they send out more people across the world than she thinks. He lifts a hand and gestures between her and the man. “Temari, this is Shikamaru Nara. Your husband.”

Summary
That night was a rushed job. Temari had to fight her muscles shaking as she slid into her sleeves. When her hair was finally tied back with a single ribbon, Temari took off towards the door to her bedroom, slippered feet scuffing against the rug. Her handmaids followed, matching her stiff posture. She did not hesitate in her quick step, although she dreaded each one she took. Dawdling would only make it worse. Other servants were rushing to and fro, frantically lighting candles on the walls. Temari could hear the sound of her father’s voice echoing from the living room as she descended the stairs from the second floor.

Summary
Some defense attorneys are so anti-prosecutor, they cannot hold an amiable conversation. Temari has never understood that perspective.
And, of course, she's always been told the old adage you catch more flies with honey. As though he'll work better with her if they're not arguing all the time.
That's why she's here and talking with him. That's why she's agreed to this single drink even after finding out who she'll be drinking with. That's why she's leaning closer and feeling the ache along the back of her tongue. That's why.
Like she's honey and he's something to be caught.
