Summary
I wrote this essay for my English Composition class early-ish in my senior year of high school. We were to write an expository essay, and I wound up getting to write a 5 page essay for a school class about one of my hyperfixations: Kuroshitsuji/Black Butler. I wrote the essay as though someone were deciding whether or not they want to read the manga, and so thus while informative, it both contains minor spoilers and avoids major spoilers to the best of my ability to do so while giving as thorough a rundown as possible of what to expect from the series. When I was writing the essay, I even had a certain brand of chaos on my tumblr (unbeknowingsgt to my poor english teacher) regarding what other people in the fandom would think are important things to note, trigger warnings and otherwise. Overall I was very chaotic, but enjoyed writing this and got an A on the essay and I am somewhat proud of it and my chaos in turning this in for a grade for a college level class in high school.

Some (rare) days, Janus feels good.
On these days he doesn’t have to deceive his shadows.
Most days, however, he does. Why would he want to show the others his tortured heart?
Nobody knew it possible for a side to deceive their shadows - the thing that showed their thoughts and feelings whether literally or not so literally on wherever they landed. That just made it all the easier for him to deceive them with and about his shadow.
But on some days, Janus just didn’t have the energy.
A//N: I'm pretty certain I'm the first person to come up with this type of AU (those are probably the wrong words I'm looking for, I don't know) and I originally posted this on wattpad.
