Takumi could never have made this decision without Karua. Without her advice, her comfort, he would’ve been trapped in his head forever, unable to choose. It’s hard to imagine he managed the first hundred days without her, even--and maybe that’s why they went so badly; maybe he needs her on a fundamental level. Without Karua’s support, without the certainty that comes from protecting her, he’s adrift. He’s nothing.

‼‼ MAJOR spoilers for the ending of route 0 ‼‼
Takumi levels him with a small, creeping smile. “Aotsuki,” he says, voice grating and low as he advances with his sword in hand. His face is almost fully enshadowed, backlit by the purple fire raging behind him. His eyes glint like jewels in the darkness. “Look at you.”
Eito scrambles backwards, but Takumi is too swift; he raises his weapon and swings it towards Eito’s neck, pressing, digging into the flesh. He looks terrifying, and smells of predatory instincts coming to a head, and Eito feels afraid. Like a little animal skittering away from its death; faced with the black shroud that hangs over everything that’s ever lived, desperate and searching. It yearns to be filled, but its stomach is bottomless. Takumi’s expression is, for once, unreadable.
Eito is scared to die.
Eito has what can most easily be described as 'a nightmare'.

Summary
Eito said, “So long as our deal is upheld, you know I won’t resist.”
Takumi shut his eyes like the conversation pained him. Like it pained him. But indisputably, that would never be enough for him to retreat. No, Takumi was so vile that he would trudge on no matter how Eito felt. He didn’t care if Eito wanted him or not. He only asked after his wellbeing to appease his own guilt.
