Summary
Because she always wants to hear everything from Emily. Except, apparently, this.
“I met someone.”
Andy blinks. Once. Twice.
Her fingers tighten fractionally around the stem of her wine glass. She swallows. Pulls in a breath that feels strangely shallow in her lungs.
“That’s great, Em,” she means to say immediately. Brightly, effortlessly. “Tell me everything.”
Instead, what comes out is small and terribly honest.
“Oh.”

Summary
But then, one day—
"It's okay," she breathes against Emily's mouth, three fingers deep inside her, and laces their hands together. "It's okay, baby, you're doing so good. You're perfect."
She feels Emily clenching harder against her, moving desperately until it becomes completely uncoordinated, and hears her whimper softly as she comes.
And oh, Andy thinks. That's certainly interesting.

Summary
‘Right,’ Mack said, once Benji and his godawful Patagonia vest were safely out of earshot and, more importantly, out of eyesight. ‘Are you going to tell me what’s up with that?’
‘What?’ Andy squeaked. ‘What do you mean? What’s up with what?’
‘I mean, who the fuck is Emily Charlton, and why are you acting like she’s your long-lost ex who you’re witnessing getting married to some other guy?’
‘I was just surprised,’ Andy insisted. ‘You’ll know why when you meet her.’ Just the thought of meeting Emily Charlton again was such a shock to her system, it felt painful to think back and realise the staggering length of time that had passed since this chapter of her life. It was as if she were twenty-four again, too intimidated to step into the office until she filched a pair of Prada heels from Nigel for the day. ‘She’s just not the kind of girl who would date Benji. I mean, the man looks like his greatest passion is using ChatGPT to generate an image of a monkey laughing.’
OR
Andrea Sachs has a fierce hatred of Benji Barnes for reasons she can’t quite articulate, but may have to do with the fact that Emily Charlton is still hot, still attractively bitchy, and now decidedly taken.

Summary
She wonders, sometimes, if it would always have been like this. If she'd answered that call 20 years ago, if she'd called her back, would they have become friends like this. Real friends. It takes four months of dinners, drinks, coffees, before she finally actually asks the question.

Summary
On Emily Charlton’s self-created and self-reviewed scale of human disasters, Andrea Sachs ranks as a Category Six. Previously, the scale reached its maximum at Category Five, but Andy is so utterly singular in her ability to emulate total catastrophe that Emily has redesigned the system to accommodate her.
