Summary
Buck almost felt like he should be grateful.
He wasn’t the first person for it to happen to. And a lot of the stories he had heard about those first people were far worse.
Horror stories had plagued the news of people blacking out and waking up on a cold metal table. They were poked and prodded and cut into. The pain, they said, was unimaginable.
Then, they would wake up in their beds. Traumatized.
And pregnant with their own clone.
OR: Aliens abduct and impregnate Buck, and his family helps him through it—Eddie most of all.

Summary
"Hello?" he says to the clothing rack, and wow, okay, so this is his life now, he's a guy who talks to clothing racks in public, that's who he is, that's what he's doing.
"Hi," says the clothing rack again.
Buck peers between the hangers to get a better look—oh. Oh, there's a very small human in there, blinking up at him from inside what appears to be a nest made entirely of women's cardigans.
So that's good, he's not losing his mind, that's a relief.
"Um," Buck says. "Hi?"
The kid has curly hair and big eyes and crutches propped up against the inside of the rack, and he's looking at Buck like Buck is the weird one here, as if Buck is the one who's chosen to make a home inside a department store display instead of living in a house like a normal person.
Or,
Buck trips over a clothing rack and into a sexuality crisis. -

Summary
The hysterical laughter stole every coherent thought from Buck and crawled into his bones; his heart thudded and he stared at the doll in disbelief. Then, as suddenly as it had started, the laughter stopped; leaving an eerie silence. Buck stood frozen, his thoughts like thick mud, staring at that stupid doll.
He completely missed the huge hole in the wall above the tub. He missed the shadow standing there, watching him from behind the hole with cold eyes and a malicious smile.- Language:
