“Who- you-” the man chokes out. The Wanderer sneers down at him.
“Let me make one thing exceedingly clear, human,” he says. He leans his face closer to the man’s. “The only person allowed to kill Raiden Ei is me. And if any of you sniveling cockroaches get any ideas otherwise, I’ll kill all of you first.”When the Wanderer first stumbles across a group scheming to kill the Raiden Shogun, he gets rid of them. After all, his revenge is meaningless if some random human manages to kill Ei first. And when more groups begin cropping up, it's only natural that he destroys them too. There's just one issue: he's somehow managed to garner a reputation as... Raiden Ei's protector?

"The brave lover, I think, deserve another kiss, which he shall have presently,” Van Helsing declared without even turning.Jack and Arthur both paused their steps. Jack turned his face up to Arthur’s, to gauge whether Art needed his help crossing the room to Lucy. At first, he couldn’t reconcile the distance between them closing– was Art growing faint? Collapsing, perhaps? Warm lips pressed against his before he realized the purpose behind the motion.
There was a clock in the asylum that Jack had once had occasion to repair. The violent outburst of a patient had seen a screw knocked loose, which had caught in the delicate gears and ceased all the routine motions within. That was the only comparison Jack had for the sudden halt of every function in his brain at the touch of Arthur’s lips.
Across the room, a familiar clearing of a throat plucked away the screw and sent the gears turning once more.
“Ahem. I had meant the young lady.”
