Rocky squeaks, a rush of air from his vents in a short burst. Scandalized.
“Put inside!? No no no. Disgust! Grace think like pervert! No no no.”
“It was an innocent question! Humans put their penises in any hole that can fit! Even stuff that isn’t alive, like, food or—”
Another squeal, this time Rocky stands on three legs. His two limbs used currently for his arms wave erratically.
“Perverted! Perverted! Perverted! Grace disgust! All human species disgust!”

Summary
Roach has been at sea for a long time. He doesn't have the best life on the Retribution under Captain Tucket, but at least he's alive. Still sometimes living is not enough, even with the occasional enrichment of a raid and the aftermath. Roach can't shake the feeling that he's missing something. Something crucial he's over looked. But looking for it may be as dangerous as leaving it alone.

Now he's seen it, it's hard not to see it.
The hunch of the shoulders. The way that he's not looking directly into the sun. The way that he pauses, looks away. The way that now Roach thinks about it, he's looked like that since he came back with Stede.
When Blackbeard thinks no-one is looking, he puts his hand to his head, presses his fingers into his temple.
And it makes sense, after what's happened. After what his crew did to him. Blows to the head linger. Sometimes they go bad long after the injury.
Roach observes Blackbeard after the fact, and perhaps the healing begins
