Summary
Menzoberranzan, city of spiders. The jewel of the Underdark.
Shadowheart had heard tales of it, quite taken with the prospect of matriarchal power flourishing to its greatest extent. It sounded almost tempting – or so she had thought before the drow surface raid. Enslavement had a way of unveiling the ugliness beneath the glamour, putting her mind, body, and soul to the test.

Summary
During War Crimes, what if Vereesa had the nerve to follow through poisoning Garrosh? In the end, she still abandons Sylvanas with a mere letter.
A year has passed since the Fall of the Forsaken. Excavation of the Ruins of Lordaeron causes a stirring within, awakening what was once dead and buried, but not forgotten. The Val'kyr pact had to be fulfilled, after all. Sylvanas reawakens, confined to house arrest in Dalaran under the watchful eye of her sister and Jaina, still reeling from the Horde.
AU divergent timeline from Mists of Pandaria. Post 5.4 Siege of Orgrimmar and War Crimes, taking place 1 year later.

Minthara snorted. She tried a piece of the cheese next, which had a taste best described as astringent. “Hardly. Natural enemies who were temporarily made allies by circumstance.”
“And… Our circumstances are not yet over?”
“But they are.”
