Summary
“Never would I think of catching such a rare creature…” the man says quietly, as though he were scared to break this strange moment. But then his smile turns predatory, and Jeongin’s hands start shaking. He gets up from the floor and turns to the other men, waving them closer. “You see, kid, when I started this job, I knew it would mostly consist of hunting the regular vampire, werewolf - maybe even a few ghosts here and there…”
The man, the hunter , opens a box and gently takes out an odd-looking knife, admiring it under the light coming from the other side of the door, glinting with a red tint. He faces Jeongin once again, and looks him up and down, seemingly satisfied with what he finds. “But I would have never thought of hunting a witch, of all things.”
Witches are to hide: tracked by both hunters and supernatural creatures, that's the only way they can survive. Jeongin is a young witch, captured and tortured by hunters. But somehow, help comes his way in the form of his supposed enemies.

Hyunjin smiles at the vampire from before when he catches him looking his way again, which seems enough to take the other boy by surprise, seeing as he almost runs into a wall, and ducks his head down in embarrassment, his pale cheeks reddening.
Interesting.
Hyunjin didn’t know it was possible for vampires to blush.
or, As part of a secret organisation set on punishing vampires who don’t obey the great laws, Hyunjin should hate Jeongin on principle. So why is the vampire nothing like the monsters he grew up hating?

Hyunjin is no stranger to attention in clubs and bars. Some buy him drinks, some ask for a dance. But this—
“Please, marry me. Or I can… hip… I can be whatever you want me to be,” the guy says, looking up from his place at Hyunjin's feet. “And I can, like… hip… get a job and buy you things forever. Hip. A house.”
“Jesus, Jeongin. Is this really how you plan on wooing him?” His friend sighs, still trying to pull him back up by the neck of his shirt. He simply won't budge, no matter how hard he tugs. “By telling him you're unemployed?”
“And clearly desperate,” Jeongin's other friend adds, swirling the straw in his cocktail without offering any help.
Jeongin bats the hands that have been pestering him out of the way, peeling his eyes off of Hyunjin to stare at the other two men with a drunken frown. “I told you I… hip… have an interview this week.”
— this is definitely new.
Drunk Jeongin drops to his knees and begs Hyunjin to marry him. To the surprise of everybody, it works like a charm.

Well, I figured the next time I'd see your face, it would be on a headstone, Jeongin thinks.
Or: In a world where people are born with the ability to see a countdown over other's heads leading up to uniquely different things, Jeongin struggles to live with the knowledge his own brings him. Somehow, Hyunjin makes it simultaneously easier and harder to deal with.
