“Um…” Will hesitates, knowing he can’t really say she works from home, because that would sort of contradict his earlier statement, because, hello, they wouldn't have had to move if that was truly the reason. “She’s…she’s a teacher,” he lies.
“Where?” asks Nicky.

todd stares at his knuckles, unbelieving. they're glistening with the same blood that slowly drips from neil's nose. they're both breathing hard. neil looks at todd, looks at him with eyes like dry pine needles, and something pinches deep inside todd.
he wants to yell at neil, he wants to punch him again. he wants to kiss him so hard he's breathless. their room is so hot. neil smiles, and todd wants to kiss the red off his lips.
OR: after drunkenly making out at a party, neil and todd struggle to know what's worse - the guilt or the desire for more.

Todd gently reached over and picked up Neil’s script, careful fingers smoothing over the edges.
“I’ll read it to you.”
Okay. Neil did not expect that at all. His head went completely blank, lips parting and eyes growing huge.
“…Seriously?”
Todd nodded, looking equal parts nervous and determined. “Reading has always helped me feel… safe.” He murmured, eyes fixed to his hands. “At home, I spend all my time reading books in my room, and- it’s like I- uh- disappear to another world. No parents, no Jeffrey, just me and my thoughts, it helps when I’m feeling overwhelmed. So, I’ll read your script out loud, i-if you like. All you have to do is close your eyes and pretend you’re on stage.”

Neil is sick and sad about missing rehearsals. Todd helps him the best way he can.

“Wow,” he replied, squinting at the light. “Nobody thought to wake me?”
It happened casually after that, so casually it almost didn’t register at first. El laughed at something Lucas said, then turned toward Mike and leaned in, instinctively, easily, pressing a kiss to his lips like it was the most logical way to say good morning to him.

or: Mike and Will have been together for a year and a half when El comes back. The problem is, El assumes she and Mike are still together. The bigger problem is that Mike doesn’t realize Will thinks he might choose her.
