Wei Ying takes a deep breath before opening the pouch, then holds it out to Lan Wangji. "Smell it," he urges.
Lan Wangji does. Whatever is in the pouch has a heady, floral scent that tickles his nose. Holding back a sneeze, he looks up at Wei Ying for an explanation.
"The locals told us about a plant with interesting properties," Wei Ying says with a sly grin. "I kept the kiddos far away from it, naturally, but I couldn't resist going and helping myself to a little bit of its pollen. I was very careful not to breathe any in myself, so I don't know if it'll work, but I want to study it. So, how do you feel?"
Lan Wangji feels…funny. His robes suddenly feel too tight around the collar, and the room feels slightly warmer than it did a minute ago. There is also a strange restlessness growing in his chest, his heart drumming a bit too fast.
"You look kinda heated," Wei Ying teases, scooting over sit right next to Lan Wangji. He pinches Lan Wangji's right earlobe between his fingers. "And you're blushing! How cute."
Hand coming up to seize Wei Ying's wrist, Lan Wangji is starting to feel like something is very, very seriously wrong. "What did you do to me?"

Silver eyes gaze at the Twin Jade of Gusu through his lashes. Lan Zhan gazed at him back with expectancy, taking in every movement involving his hand. It almost seemed like Lan Zhan had stopped breathing all together, waiting in anticipation for the other’s next move. A smile tugs Wei Wuxian’s lips into a smirk before bringing the bruised hand close to his lips. They barely brush against the soft skin, but it’s enough to make the other jerk his hand out of Wei Wuxian’s grip.
“Wei Ying… What are you—“ Lan Wangji asks, almost breathless. He shouldn’t find it so cute, so adorable. He shouldn’t find it so exciting to notice how Lan Zhan was already breathing heavily with just the brush of his lips. As if he hadn’t pinned him down and stolen his first kiss, his breath away, a few moments ago.
“What do you think I’m doing?” He asks with an eyebrow quirked upward. When Lan Zhan doesn’t respond, he takes his hand once more.
Or; Wei Wuxian knows Lan Wangji was the shy maiden that stole his first kiss.

Wei Ying has no idea where the rift between them started, but he knows where it ended them. An eavesdropped conversation his senior year of high school. Lan Zhan wanted space, and Wei Ying gave it to him-- transferring to Yunmeng University at the last moment.
Coming home after a year, Wei Ying expected things to be awkward. What he didn't expect was the odd behavior from the boy that so desperately wanted him gone. Wei Ying had given him everything he wanted, so why does Lan Zhan look so sad?
