Kakashi was prepared to travel back in time. He wasn't expecting ti to actually work, and he certainly wasn't expecting to wake up in a world that seemed distinctly... off... from what he remembered of the past.
What does it mean, to wake up in a time when his father is meant to be dead and instead find that he and his dad are living with extended family he's never heard of?
And why does his new cousin seem like he might know that Kakashi isn't the person he's pretending to be?
(Crossover between Canon and My OCSI fic, Morpheme, but you can absolutely read it as Kakashi just landing in an AU rather than needing to know that fic specifically)Series

Having been (absurdly) reincarnated into a previously fictional setting, Yamada Hanako felt satisfied staying in the background-- this story was written before she arrived, and it would continue without her just the same. Unfortunately, she made a single, critical error: a bit part is still a part.

For a prompt from Fascinationex: “ninja are meant to be able bodied, but plenty of them grow to experience chronic injuries and illnesses due to the nature of their work. exposure to poisons and dodgy joints are common, for example. a lot of medicine and man hours go into keeping good ninja in working order -- but when a ninja becomes a missing-nin, she starts having to deal with these problems independently. and that's when problems arise.”
In Mist, you fought until you couldn’t, and then you got a desk job. Unfortunately “desk job” doesn’t translate well into “missing-nin.”
