    Death and war begets change, a change the Fates do not approve of. One they did not see coming. So, they select their champion, their current favorite, the last alive. They aren't particularly surprised when he drags off broken strings behind him.

    Stability begets stagnation, or so the gods thought. After decades of the same old problems, again and again, they have grown weary and search for newness, novelty. Where else could they find this than the new godlings popping up almost unbidden?

    Scattered and foggy memories, the godlings try to figure out their purpose in this new time, and perhaps find out who they once were.

To leave a child like this, a living godling of the salt, out in the open? To let him be swept away by a stray current of rage? It was a crime against the divine.
