Four of his minions surround the Senju Brothers. With one blade in each hand and pressing against vulnerable body parts, no one dared to move. Even Hashirama hesitated, outmanoeuvred by an enemy that caught them by surprise. Carefully, Madara assesses the situation, and the Sharigan picks out details in seconds. There's sweat on Tobirama's temple and his gaze is unfocused - a poison at work. It's the reason they got caught in the first place.

There’s been a lot of discussion recently about the Doom and about how Beren, Thingol, Dior and Elwing were justified in wanting/keeping the Silmaril, because it eventually led to Eärendil managing to get through the barriers that the Valar had erected around Valinor to keep that pesky, inconvenient war out and convincing the Valar to do their jobs.
But that was not why they did what they did. There is no indication whatsoever that Beren, Thingol, Dior and Elwing thought that keeping the Silmaril was necessary to fulfil some Doom and to save the world from Morgoth; instead, it’s clear that they all coveted the Silmaril at least in part for inherently selfish reasons.

The man lowers his sword.
“Forgive us, but we will have to check on your identity when we get to the camp,” the man says, stepping forward and offering Sasuke a hand to stand up. "However, until then, welcome home.”Or, after the war is over and everything is said and done, Sasuke is terrified of getting dragged back to Konoha and prays for things to be different. The next time he opens his eyes, he’s a hundred years in the past—surrounded by kin and, most importantly, Madara Uchiha.
