Summary
Being the child of a gangster isn’t easy—much less being his pawn. But that was life for Evelyn Kimber, and that was all she ever knew. The gilded cage she lived in was never meant to be destroyed. She did what she was told, pitched in when allowed to. Hers was not a woman’s world.
Most of the time, Evelyn didn’t know what she felt. The only constant, the only wish that kept her steady was the hope to one day be rid of her father’s clutches. To be free.
Thomas Shelby had ambition, although the war had torn out a piece of his heart. But he would stop at nothing. No person or action would make him cower in fear.
Everything was supposed to go according to plan, until one day, a murder, then a messy theft, lead to the collision of two people from different worlds.
Suddenly, Evelyn and Thomas find themselves intertwined in a scheme neither can quite understand.
But while different on the surface, maybe the two are more similar than they’d like to admit. Broken souls, and all.
“You’re scared to win, scared to lose. I’ve heard that war was over if you really choose. The one in and around you.” - California, Lana Del Rey

Summary
In which Coriolanus Snow is handsomely rewarded for his tribute winning the Games and in turn handsomely rewards his prize, Lucy Gray, herself.
He's gone solemn now in the afterglow, serious. He cares for his own, Snow, she sees that with his family, and now she is one of them. Not his family, but something he owns. His prize, his ward, his girl.
Is she to be his mistress then? she thinks hazily as she slips towards sleep. Is that the future for her? To escape from the viper's den into the viper's mansion?
She shivers and he drags her closer, one large hand tucked around her hip.
Well, she can't escape now even if she wants to, she thinks, sinking into the softness of the plush mattress, burrowing back into the heat and warmth of her jailor.

Summary
Can you make a man good? Can you inspire a man to goodness? To purity?
A man who kills for you— is that purity? Purity of purpose, of love, of obsession perhaps.
'You were the first man who had me, you know that,' she murmurs as he clutches her close in his bed, as her legs lift higher around his hips.
'I know,' he grunts.
'So I'm yours now, aren't I?' she says, trying not to make it sound like a plea. More like an oath.

Summary
‘No man has hit me, either. Another girl stole my money. Money I’d been saving to go after my brother – who you fucking sent away and left me, all on my own, to fend for myself. Don’t you judge me for the position that you put me in!’
‘Don’t shout at me in me own fucking car!’ Tommy barked back, turning and pointing at her.
‘Stop fucking pointing at me! There is only one person to be pointing fingers at, and it’s you! You fucking did this to me, Thomas Shelby!’
Tommy’s gaze was wide and wild, horrified by her words, looking at her skinny wrist, her battered face. He was shaking his head, but she was sobbing, looking out of the window, likely regretting speaking at all. She had been sweet. So sweet.
He swallowed. ‘Go in the house. Polly has a bath for you.’

Summary
There's no love lost between accountant Beatrice Price and Peaky Blinders leader Tommy Shelby, but when Trixie begins to grow suspicious of Birmingham's newest barkeep, they're forced to take action. Action, in this case, involves maintaining the facade of a romance, a role that becomes surprisingly easy for the former-rivals to play.
