    “I dunno,” I grin. “Maybe you just wanted to have some sexy fun with an alien.”

    Adrian lets out a tinkling little burst of laughter.

    “I’ve heard you are very good with your hands. But I have designs on all of you, Grace. If you'll have me.”

    “We’ll see.” I push myself awkwardly up off the floor. “Let's have our big important date first.”

    But things aren't quite as they seem - if they're just coworkers, why does Grace's heart beat faster whenever they lock eyes? And how come each fractured piece he recovers of his life before leaves him with more questions than answers about the true nature of their relationship? For someone who doesn't like to lie, Rocky is awfully good at keeping secrets.

    Disaster strikes the Hail Mary on its way back to Earth. The taumoeba escape their breeding tanks, and make it to the fuel lines. Stranded in space just outside the Tau Ceti system, Dr Ryland Grace can't do anything. He can't go save Rocky, he can't go save Earth. Exhausted, out of options, and distraught, he fills the ship with nitrogen, and takes his final breath.
    Next thing he knows, his eyes flutter open in his San Francisco apartment. It's a year before ArcLight touches down on Earth, but he remembers the Petrova Task Force.
    He's not the only one.
