Whoever said that beating Vecna’s going to fix Hawkins’ problems, Will’s problems, Mike’s problems—they deserve an earful. They deserve to feel this weird, hollow dissatisfaction chewing away at their chests.

Summary
“Hey.” Will knows it's Mike before he even says anything. His body had been finetuned to Mike’s frequency since that day on the swingset. He never knew how torturous it would become. “Can we talk?”
Finally, Will turns around to look at him. Mike is standing there, expression unreadable and flat, like it usually was nowadays, but still as beautiful as ever, all sharp cheekbones and pouty lips. Will tries not to let his heart literally jump out of his chest, because now that part of the secret was out, it felt particularly hard to keep the rest of it in. As if it didn’t already show on his face enough – with the right context, he was screwed. And Mike did know him, even if things hadn’t been the same for a while.
“Sure, what’s up?” Will says, as if he didn’t know what it could possibly be about. Surely, not his coming out to half of Hawkins about an hour ago.
(things have been weird between mike and will for a while for reasons they both don't fully understand – until they start getting honest with each other. there may be a chance to fix it after all, even if it feels like the world is literally ending.)
